More about us
In our website, TCM stands for Traditional Chinese Medicine.
“Confinement” is not only a tradition of Chinese, many other races have their own tradition of “confinement” either. Most of the traditional practices are linked with religions, but only Chinese confinement practice is reasoned and guided by the traditional Chinese medicine theory. After giving birth, it usually takes 6-8 weeks for a mother to recover. Relatively a younger mother recovers faster after delivery.
“Puerperal period could be a turning point for a woman’s health.” I started to believe this after I have given birth my two girls, and that was the reason why I initiated this company with my TCM and nursing friends to provide professional postpartum care to Singaporean mums.
More and more Singaporean women choose to focus on career first before setting up a family. It resulted in having the first child at her 30th or even later. A rational postpartum care is particularly important for them. What will be the best confinement practice in such a hot and humid climate? Most mums choose to employ a confinement nanny to take care of them during the month. Majority of the confinement nannies are from Malaysia, and also local ones. Some of them attended a week course, but most of them work based on their own life experience. The role of a confinement nanny is taking care of the baby’s daily routine and cooking confinement dishes for the mother. They are often unable to recommend a more targeted or therapeutic herbal soup when the mother experiences breast tenderness, lack of milk, mastitis, Lochiorrhea , body ache, depression, excessive sweating and a series of post-natal illness. They may even provide a wrong suggestion sometimes. “Flower Moon TCM” provides professional TCM home services to take good care of our Singaporean mums and babies during confinement.
Chinese medicine is good at “following the prognosis of the disease”, which means we treat the disease before it arises.
Our team of well-trained Singapore licensed TCM physicians and nurses will customize and individualize the treatment plan for each mum based on both modern and Chinese medicine theory. We aim to prevent or treat a variety of post-natal illness, as well as promote a rapid body recovery after delivery.
We will make every effort to help you enjoy your confinement month like a “honeymoon” for you and your baby, and to take good care of you and your baby’s health.
Especially for breastfeeding mothers, we are best at using Chinese massage therapy, acupuncture, traditional Chinese herbs or herbal SPA to help you prevent and treat a variety of breastfeeding related problems. We hope every mum could enjoy the precious time with your baby and make breastfeeding experience become the most affectionate memories of your life.
